“Everyone in this trade knows where the money leaks. Almost nobody works on it, because the problems are unglamorous and hard.”

I came from a Marwadi family in Rajasthan and started working in jewellery manufacturing at sixteen. Not in an office — on the floor, full-time, learning by doing it badly and then doing it better.
What struck me was not that things went wrong. Things go wrong in every industry. It was that nobody could say where. A casting failed and the metal loss got absorbed. A karigar's balance was argued from two different notebooks. An order's status lived in someone's head until you called them. Everyone accepted this as how the trade works.
So I built the thing I wanted on that floor: every micro-milligram tracked, every order's follow-up one click away, real traceability instead of verbal coordination and WhatsApp messages that get cleared when a phone runs out of storage.
Then I kept following the metal. It does not begin at manufacturing — it begins as bullion, moves through a refinery, and has to be carried between people at every stage. Those parts had even worse software than manufacturing did. So we built them too.
That is the whole idea. Take the problems this trade has simply lived with, solve them properly at the level of a single gram, and then do the harder thing — make the software easy enough that a real jeweller opens it without being trained twice.
We are early on this. There is a lot still to build. But the direction has not changed since the factory floor, and it will not.
Started full-time in jewellery manufacturing. Learned the trade by doing it — deadlines, failed castings, missed follow-ups, metal that never quite added up.
Different factories, same losses. Not because people were careless, but because nothing they had could actually show them where value went.
Started where the pain was sharpest: every bag, every gram, every stage tracked, with follow-ups one click away instead of scattered across WhatsApp.
Metal does not start on the factory floor. It starts as bullion, passes through a refinery, and is carried between people. Those had even worse software, so we built them too.
A native app, a gold trading platform on top of Bullion ERP, and multi-currency markets. Long road, and we are early on it.
Most software companies pick a category and stay in it. We followed the material instead — and the material does not respect category boundaries. The same gram is bullion, then refined metal, then a bag on a bench, then a sealed parcel in someone's hands.
That is why Valenza is five businesses on one ledger rather than five products. A jeweller should be able to ask where a gram is, and get an answer, without it mattering which department happens to be holding it.
A mobile app, a gold trading platform and international markets are being built, not shipped. We would rather tell you that plainly than let a roadmap read like a product list.
