CAD / CAM · the design department

CAD CAM jewellery software that ends in a job card

Keep the modelling tool your designers know. Valenza runs the department around it: the CAD queue, the review that has to pass, the file and render library, the CAM mould library, a manual design department for hand sketches, and the styles themselves — and the approved design becomes a job card on the floor without being re-typed. The CAD department

A queue, a review and a library that is not a desktop

Most design departments lose time twice: once looking for a file, and once redesigning something that already exists. These are the screens that stop both.

CAD Working

The live queue: which design each CAD designer is on, against which order, and how long it has been open.

CAD Review

A design is checked before it goes any further. The review sits on the record, so an approval is not a message somebody remembers.

CAD Library

The CAD files themselves, kept where the next order can find them instead of on one designer’s desktop.

CAD Images

The renders, alongside the job they belong to — what the client was shown, and when.

CAD Reports

What the department produced, designer by designer, against what it was given.

My CAD Tasks, Files & Reports

A designer’s own screens — his tasks, his files and his own output — without the rest of the department’s work in the way.

CAM Mould Library

The moulds on the CAM side, kept as a library so a repeat order does not start from nothing.

CAD Fields

The fields a CAD job carries are a master, so your department captures what your department needs.

Design to job card

The hand-off that usually loses a week

An approved design should not be re-described to the floor. In Valenza the order already carries its design, so Order Job Card and Design Job Card are printed from what was approved — and the bag goes to wax with the same record attached.
  • CAD Review or Manual Review has to pass before the job card
  • Order Job Card and Design Job Card printed from the approved design
  • Make a Tree, then Melting Issue and Casting Issue on the same bag
  • Bag Transaction Report traces a finished piece back to its design
  • Design History shows how a repeat order was made last time

CAD / manual

Assigned, worked, reviewed, approved.

Job card

Printed from the approved design.

Wax & casting

Make a Tree, melting, casting, break tree.

Back to the design

Every piece traceable to the style it came from.

Manual design

Paper is a department, not an exception

Plenty of Indian factories start a design on paper and always will. The manual department gets the same treatment the CAD department does — assigned, reviewed, stored and reported.

Manual Tasks

Hand-drawn work assigned the same way a CAD job is — to a person, against an order, with a date.

Manual Review

The sketch checked before it becomes a job card, on the record.

Manual Designer & Directory

Who the manual designers are and what each one is carrying.

Manual Library

The sketches kept together, so last season’s drawing is findable next season.

Manual Report

The department’s output, and each designer’s own My Manual Tasks and My Manual Reports.

Manual Field

The fields a manual design job carries, defined once as a master.

Styles

The design book, kept as data

A style is not a folder of images. It is a code, a card, a picture, a history and — sometimes — somebody else’s property.

Design List

Every style the factory makes, with its code — Design Code is a master, so codes do not drift.

Product Card

The master card for a style: what it is made of, what it weighs and what goes into making it.

Design Gallery

The styles as pictures, for the person choosing rather than the person coding.

Design History

What changed on a style and when — so a repeat order is made the way it was made last time.

Client Design

Designs that belong to a client, kept apart from your own book.

Attribute & tone masters

Attribute Masters, Tone Master, Size / Length Master and Region Master describe a style once, for every screen after it.

Valenza Manufacturing AI

Three tools that read a photograph

Not a chatbot in the menu. Three jobs a design department does with a photo every day — checking whether the design already exists, seeing it in another tone, and writing the line for the catalogue.
  • AI Image Search — the same or a similar design, found in your own library
  • AI Metal Tone — the piece in another tone before it is made
  • AI Catalogue Copy — the catalogue line written from the photograph
  • They run on your own AI provider account: that provider bills you, and Valenza integrates and tests it

Illustration — runs on your own AI provider account.

AI Image Search

Upload a photograph of a piece and find the same or a similar design already in your own library — before somebody designs it again.

AI Metal Tone

See a piece in another metal tone from its photograph, before it is made in that tone.

AI Catalogue Copy

The catalogue line for a piece, written from its photograph.

Control

A designer’s screens, a head’s screens

The department head needs the whole queue; a designer needs his own. Both exist, and nobody sees what their role does not allow.

Per-screen rights

A user gets exactly the screens their role allows, with create, edit, delete and export set per screen. Every write is on the Activity Log with the user and the time.

My Department

A head sees his department’s received bags, pending bags, stock, target, delays, loss, QC rejects, karigars and contractors — and nothing from anybody else’s floor.

Designer output, measured

CAD Reports, Manual Report and Predict Designs in Data Insights read what the department actually produced, not what somebody typed into a sheet.

Compare

A managed design department vs the usual way

Most design departments run on a shared drive and a WhatsApp group, or on a CAD tool with no factory behind it.

Pricing

One plan for the whole factory — the design department included

There is no separate CAD licence: all 416 screens come in one plan, with unlimited users, unlimited departments and unlimited units. The first-time setup is quoted on your factory’s data and hardware rather than published, because it depends on how much data has to come across, how many departments and units you run and which scales, printers, scanners or RFID readers you use. After that it is a monthly AMC.

All-in-one

Valenza Manufacturing

The whole factory, all-in-one — every module, no limits.

FAQ

CAD CAM jewellery software — questions designers ask

What is CAD CAM jewellery software?+

Software that runs the jewellery design department rather than draws the model. Your designers keep using the CAD tool they already know; this is the layer around it — who is working on which design, against which order, whether it has been reviewed and approved, where the file and the render live, which mould exists on the CAM side, and how the approved design becomes a job card on the factory floor.

Does Valenza replace my CAD modelling software?+

No. Valenza does not model. It manages the department: CAD Working as the live queue, CAD Review for the approval, CAD Library for the files, CAD Images for the renders, CAD Reports for the output, and CAD Fields as the master that decides what a CAD job records. Your modelling tool stays exactly as it is.

How does a CAD design reach the factory floor?+

An order carries its design, the CAD job is reviewed and approved, and the order becomes a job card on Order Job Card or Design Job Card. From there the bag goes to wax — Make a Tree — then melting and casting, and the same record is what Department Stocks, the Bag Transaction Report and Track Orders Status read.

Can each designer see only their own work?+

Yes. My CAD Tasks, My CAD Files and My CAD Reports give a designer his own queue, his own files and his own output, and the manual side has My Manual Tasks, My Manual Reports and My Design. A department head sees the whole department through My Department; each user gets exactly the screens their role allows.

Does it handle manual or hand-drawn design as well as CAD?+

Yes, as its own department. Manual Tasks, Manual Review, Manual Designer, Manual Directory, Manual Library and Manual Report work the same way the CAD screens do, with Manual Field as the master for what a manual job records — because most Indian factories still start plenty of work on paper.

Is there a mould library on the CAM side?+

Yes. Mould Library sits in the CAM department, so a repeat order can start from a mould that already exists instead of going back through design.

Where do design codes, product cards and the gallery live?+

In the style department: Design List with its Design Code master, Product Card as the master card for a style, Design Gallery as the pictures, Design History for what changed and when, and Client Design for designs that belong to a client. Attribute Masters, Tone Master and Size / Length Master describe a style once for every screen after it.

What do the AI design tools actually do?+

Three specific jobs, each from a photograph of a piece. AI Image Search finds the same or a similar design in your own library. AI Metal Tone shows the piece in another metal tone. AI Catalogue Copy writes the catalogue line. They run on your own AI provider account — that provider bills you for usage, and Valenza connects, configures and tests the key.

Is CAD CAM sold on its own?+

No. The design department is part of Valenza Manufacturing, which is one module covering the whole factory — 416 screens across 55 department menus. There is no separate CAD licence to buy and no department sold as an add-on.

How much does it cost?+

One all-in-one plan: every module, unlimited users, unlimited departments and unlimited units. There is a one-time setup charge, quoted on your own factory data and hardware, and then a monthly AMC that covers support, updates and new features. The setup is quoted rather than published because it depends on how much data has to come across, how many departments and units you run, and which scales, printers, scanners or RFID readers you use — so book a demo and we will scope it with you. The AMC figure is on the pricing page.
